Light Combat Helicopter Armaments and Technologies

Few weeks ago MoD approved 15 Light Combat Helicopters under Limited Series Production (LSP) variant, 10 for IAF and 5 for Army. Although Hindustan Aeronautics had already started the procedures of LSP of LCH last year on its own.

Now it is being reported that in a significant development Hindustan aeronautics is working with an Indian company to develop a new Electronic Warfare (EW) suite and Integrated Self-Protection System (ISPS) for the Light Combat Helicopter.

The system will have Radar Warning Receiver (RWR), Missile Approach Warning System (MAWS), Laser Warning Receiver (LWR) and Counter Measure Dispensing System (CMDS) that will give a game changer capability to the LCH and will also increase its export opportunities.
