The Indian Air
Force is all set to table a proposal for procurement of more Boeing Ch-47 Chinook.
The Indian Air Force currently operates 15 units of this tandem rotor helicopter.
The helicopter is extensively used by the Indian Air Force in various missions, including deployment against china on Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Recently the Indian Air Force canceled a plan to acquire 48 Mi-17V5 helicopters from Russia, although that was seen as a step to make space of upcoming Indian Multi-Role Helicopter (IMRH).
However Chinook will complement the existing fleet in humanitarian assistance and cargo lift that's about.
