State owned BEL has started fabrication of Low band Jammer pod for LCA Tejas

State-owned
company Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) has started fabrication of Low band
jammer pod for LCA Tejas.
This pod will be based on design of DRDO's LRDE.
In order to meet the space and weight constraint, the pod is kept for the light compact and power-efficient based on the information from DRDO document, it will be capable of engaging threats transmitting across 1 Gigahertz (GHz) to six Gigahertz wave band.
However, it is yet not clear if this is Tejas Mk1 or Tejas Mk2, earlier we exclusively reported a Growler kind of aircraft based on LCA Tejas Mk2 has entered into wind tunnel testing.
