120 units of Remote Controlled Weapon Station to be used to mount 12.7 mm machine gun on Arjun Mk1A
A remote weapon station armed with a 12.7mm machine gun is mounted on the top of the turret.


The Department of Defense Production has released a tender for the assembly and mounting of 120 units of remote-controlled weapon station that will be used to mount the NSVT 12.7 millimeters machine gun on the 118 Arjun Mark-1A  tanks ordered by the Indian Army in September 2021.

The Remote Controlled Weapon Station is intended to lay unstabilize, the NSVT 12.7 millimeters machine gun along with the optical sensors in traverse and elevation mounted on the Arjun Mark-1A  turret.

The system will allow the operator to control the gun and sight from the operating console and joystick from inside, the turret it will also allow automatic target tracking for air and ground targets and will perform necessary ballistic computations to feed the ballistic offsets to the 12.7 millimeters gun.
