DRDO starts studies to develop an Airborne Electronic Attack aircraft on the Su-30MKI platform Sukhoi 30 EW Variant

The Combat Aircraft
Systems Development and Integration Center (CASDIC) has started feasibility
studies for the integration of an Electronic Warfare (EW) suite on the Indian
Air Force Sukhoi Su-30MKI aircraft and this is considered the first step toward
the development of the Su-30 Airborne Electronic Attack variant that will be
capable to perform a wide range of enemy defense suppression missions.
Airborne electronic attack (AEA) platforms are capable of disrupting, deceiving, or denying a broad range of military electronic systems including radars and communications. Su-30 aircraft will retain all of the multi-mission capabilities with its validated design and the capability to perform a wide range of enemy defense suppression missions.
Advanced Self Protection Jamming Pod (ASPJ ) and Dual-Colour Missile Approach Warning System by the DRDO's Defence Avionics Research Establishment (DARE).
The Su-30 Airborne Electronic Attack Aircraft will be carrying Tactical Jamming pods, Communication Counter Measures set, Electronic Warfare Receiver Suite, Satellite communications and a High-Performance Signal Intelligence Sensor system.
China had unveiled a J-16D Electronic Warfare (EW) variant in September 2021 which soon became operational in the Chinese Air Force after combat training.
EA-18G Growler and J-16D are Electronic-Warfare versions of the F-18 E/F and J-16 (Sukhoi Su-27) multi-role strike fighters developed by Boeing and Shenyang Aircraft Corp that can be used to jam the enemy air-defense radars and deceive radars into detecting a large number of incoming warplanes or masking a large airborne fleet.
