STAR missile by DRDO Undergoing Wing Tunnel Testing, to be ready for development trials by end of 2023

DRDO's STAR (Supersonic TARget) during the wind tunnel testing at NAL's 1.2M Trisonic Facility.

At the 63rd Foundation Day celebrations of National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) a wind tunnel model of the Supersonic TARget Missile (STAR) was spotted.

The Mach 2.4 capable STAR missile can be launched from fighter jets and surface platforms that will be used to train surface warship crews to detect and defeat incoming supersonic anti-ship missiles.

It will also be used to train the Air Defense units of the Air Force and Army.

The STAR is currently going through wind tunnel testing and it is expected that it will be ready by the end of 2020 for demonstration trials.
