DRDO fast tracks WhAP based ATGM Vehicle program : Roll out by mid 2023

Indian Army wants a variant like this with NAMICA turret over WhAP, here TATA Kestrel

IgMp has first told you all on July 5^th that the Indian Army gave Acceptance of Necessity (AON) to a ATGM launcher based on a 8x8 Wheeled Armoured Platform (WhAP) and they are favoring TATA Kestrel WhAP for it.

Now reports have emerged that the DRDO has fast tracked the development of the Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) vehicle program that is based on the 8x8 Wheeled Armored Platform (WhAP) and the rollout of the first prototype will take place by mid-2023.

The main armament of the Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) vehicle will be NAG Anti Tank Missile launcher that features high-end optics and has six missiles ready to launch and can carry four more in storage.

It will also be fitted with smoke grenade launchers for self-defense and armor to protect the crew.
