The DRDO’s Center for Airborne Studies (CABS) and the Indian Air Force are looking to procure 6 more Netra Mk 1 Airborne Early Warning and Control System  (AEW&CS) based on Embraer 145 platform that will increase the current Netra Mk 1 AEW&CS numbers to 9.

This is in addition of the earlier proposed A-319 based 6 Netra Mk2 AWACS, whose first aircraft may be available within next 4 years.

The Private Sector firm LK Electromag Private Limited has started the fabrication process for the VHF and L-band antennas for the 6-Netra Mk 2 radar that will be integrated on the 6 Airbus A-319 aircraft that is currently undergoing modification by the DRDO with assistance from Airbus.
