HAL has proposed to the Indian Armed Forces that it will work on Next Generation Helicopters which can be seen as a successor to the Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) in 2035.
The core research team of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited has plans to work on two path-breaking helicopter programs that will see the use of Coaxial Rotor and Tilt Rotor Propulsion.
Talks with Indian Army and Indian Air Force officials on the incorporation of Next-Gen propulsions in the helicopters have been taken up and low observable technology with fast acceleration and the deceleration are some of the criteria that have been discussed.
The Tilt rotor helicopter program will be much more complex and will be used to develop a heavy lift class helicopter for the Air Force and the Navy.
HAL is currently working on the delivery of Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) to the Indian Air Force and the Indian Army, introduction of Light Utility Helicopter (LUH) and the development of Indian Multi Role Helicopter (IMRH) the heaviest helicopter to be built in India.
