DRDO to develop full spectrum SIGINT pod for UAVs and Aircraft

The DRDO has begun work on developing a full spectrum Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) pod for Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) UAVs like indigenous TAPAS BH-201 MALE UAV.

The lightweight signal intelligence pod will be mounted as an external load that will be equipped with advanced receive and transmits capabilities to support an array of mission profiles to allow deep looking into contested and denied environments by our UAVs or Aircraft.

This SIGINT pod can not only be mounted on UAVs only, due to its lightweight, it can also be mounted on other aircraft including fighter jets and transporters, tankers etc to use them as dual platforms for both transporting or refueling and also gathering intelligence of enemy assets or signals.
