Russia offers its own version of Super Sukhoi upgrade program to IAF, to counter HAL's offer

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd (HAL) has proposed its own Super Sukhoi upgrade proposal to the Indian Air Force that comprises largely of the Uttam Mark III radar a new cockpit layout and upgraded avionics for which HAL is keen to get Russia's United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) to act as a consultant in the program.

While on the other hand, Russia doesn't want to miss out on the $4 billion upgrade program of 150 Indian Sukhoi Su-30 fighters and United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has come up with its own Super Sukhoi upgrade program for the Indian Air Force.

Russian United Aircraft Corporation has proposed to equip the IAF Sukhois with more powerful AL-41F1 engine and is also ready to offer an export variant of the N036 Byelka AESA radar developed for the Sukhoi Su-57 5th generation stealth fighter as well as a new Optical Electronic Sighting navigation system with improved performance characteristics along with a new set of Electronic countermeasures and Multi-channel communication and data transmission system including a new cockpit layout with two main multi-function LCD display.
