The Indian Army has released Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for the procurement of 375 Light Bulletproof Vehicles under Buy Indian category and Fast Track procedure.

It must have a load carrying capacity of at least 600 kilograms and a speed of at least 60 kilometers per hour and apart from the driver and co-driver, it will carry four fully equipped Soldiers with battle loads.

The vehicle as well as the windshield and side glass must be able to withstand 7.62 millimeters and 5.56 millimeters rounds at a distance of 10 meters.
