India’s first AI-powered Anti-Drone System ‘Indrajaal’ unveiled by Hyderabad based Grene Robotics

A Hyderabad-based robotics company, Grene Robotics has invented an advanced autonomous anti-drone system, driven by artificial intelligence. The system, a first-of-its-kind in India, is designed to safeguard critical facilities such as nuclear installations and oil rigs, as well as cover extensive areas, potentially an entire city, from various types of drones.

Known as Indrajaal, the revolutionary Autonomous Drone Defence Dome has garnered global recognition. It boasts cutting-edge features, offering an astounding coverage range of up to 4000 sq. km per unit. The expansive capability ensures comprehensive protection against drones of various types and classifications, making it a remarkable advancement in drone defence technology.

“What truly sets Indrajaal apart is its “made in India” pedigree. Developed entirely on Indian soil, by Indian talent, using Indian resources, it stands as a testament to our nation’s growing capabilities in the field of technology and defence. My appreciation to the research and development team at Grene Robotics for their commendable innovation,” Uttrakhand Governor Lt Gen Gurmit Singh (Retd), who was the chief guest at the launch said.

Kiran Raju, the founder of Grene Robotics, which was established 12 years ago, explains that the design of Indrajaal incorporates a modular mechanism similar to LEGO blocks, featuring 12 distinct layers of technology all driven by artificial intelligence. “The system provides 360-degree protection, with the ability to detect, identify, classify, track, and neutralise threats in real-time. The threat lifetime can be as short as 30 seconds to a few minutes,” he told NDTV.

Indrajaal is distinguished as the world’s sole wide-area Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System (C-UAS). It introduces an integrated security solution capable of addressing mobile threats that static defence systems struggle to combat, NDTV reported. The technology has been developed by Grene Robotics, a cutting-edge deep-tech company specializing in AI-powered security solutions tailored for defence, enterprise, and government sectors.
