In a significant development, the security forces in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir have reported a notable increase in the neutralization of foreign militants compared to their local counterparts in the current year. According to Northern Army Commander Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, this marks the first time that the number of foreign militants eliminated has surpassed that of locals, highlighting a shift in the dynamics of security operations in the region.
During a media interaction held after the inauguration of the three-day North Tech Symposium at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jammu, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi revealed this significant shift in the neutralization of militants. He disclosed that, in the current year, a total of 46 militants had been neutralized by security forces. Of this figure, a striking 37 were foreigners, while nine were locals. This contrast underscores a four-fold increase in the elimination of foreign militants compared to their local counterparts.

Further insights into the data reveal that out of the 46 militants neutralized, an impressive 29 were eliminated in the southern part of the Pir Panjal region. This information suggests that security forces have been particularly effective in countering threats and operations in this area.
Lieutenant General Dwivedi also shed light on the larger regional context, emphasizing that Pakistan appears to be frustrated by the restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He pointed out that attempts are being made from across the border to disrupt the newfound peace in the Union Territory. However, he reaffirmed the commitment of Indian security forces to thwart any such attempts, ensuring that peace is preserved and upheld.
In a related development, Lieutenant General Dwivedi highlighted another significant achievement in the ongoing security operations. He noted that all top commanders of various terror outfits operating in Jammu and Kashmir have been neutralized. This accomplishment has not only bolstered security but has also proven to be a source of frustration for Pakistan.
