TATA Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) has developed the Rajak Extra Long-Range (XLR) surveillance system that will be tested by the Indian Army in August.
According to TASL, Rajak-ULR comprises a long-range day camera, a thermal imager, a global positioning system (GPS), and a digital magnetic compass (DMC) and short-wave infrared (SWIR) camera (optional) mounted on a compact stabilised pan tilt and controlled through a compact console.
The system will be mostly used by the artillery regiment and it will have a 50 kilometers detection range for vehicles and a 40 kilometers range for detecting humans.
