'India, I Reached My Destination And You Too': First message from Chandrayaan-3 After Successful Landing On The Moon makes everyone emotional

‘India, I Reached My Destination And You Too’: First message from Chandrayaan-3 After Successful Landing On The Moon makes everyone emotional

After India’s lunar mission successfully landed on the Moon on August 23, Chandrayaan-3 sent its first message saying that it reached its destination and also congratulated India. “India, I reached my destination and you too,” the Chandrayaan-3 mission sent its first message commemorating a successful soft-landing on the Moon.

Chandrayaan-3 has successfully transported two Indian visitors – a lander named Vikram and a rover named Pragyan – to the Moon’s southern region. This historic event took place on Wednesday at approximately 6:04 pm (IST). With the seamless landing of these two automated spacecraft, India achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the first nation to access this specific lunar surface area intact. Furthermore, India now stands as only the fourth country worldwide to achieve a successful moon landing.

In the wake of a recent unsuccessful Russian lunar landing attempt, India’s Chandrayaan-3 mission takes centre stage, embarking on a mission to explore a previously uncharted lunar territory.

‘Moon Mission Is Not India’s Alone’

After the successful landing on the Moon, addressing ISRO scientists virtually from Johannesburg, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India made a resolve “on the Earth and fulfilled it on the Moon”.

Noting India has reached the South Pole of the moon, where no country had ventured so far, the PM said: “This is a moment to cherish forever.”

“India’s successful moon mission is not India’s alone…Our approach of one earth, one family one future is resonating across the globe…Moon mission is based on the same human-centric approach. So, this success belongs to all of humanity,” PM Modi underlined the extraordinary significance of achieving this feat during India’s G20 presidency, further elevating the shared sense of accomplishment.
