After Armenia, Now Philippines want to procure ATAGS from India
A high-level delegation from the Philippines has undertaken visits to several Indian Defence companies and they have expressed interest in procuring artillery systems offered by the Bharat Forge subsidiary Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL).
The Philippines authorities are currently evaluating the 155 millimeters X 52 caliber Advanced Towed Artillery Gun System (ATAGS) for the Philippines Army artillery regiment and the Philippines Army is also expected to clear the $300 million deal for BrahMos missile in 2024 for the Philippines Navy.
It is important to note here, that recently a video emerged in which we have seen ATAGS in a new camo that doesn’t belong to the Indian Army, and that was said to be the export variant of ATAGS for the Armenian Army. Armenia procured hundreds of ATAGS guns last year for which the delivery has just begun. Kalyani group is betting big on ATAGS and its Truck Mounted variant to boost its export orders as the gun is garnering huge attention from global defence forces of friendly countries.
