The DRDO’s Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) is developing a hypersonic cruise missile under a new project that has been named ‘Project ET-LDHCM’ that will be based on the Hypersonic Technology Demonstrator Vehicle (HSTDV).

The DRDO aims to achieve a combustion for 1000 seconds that will give it a range of 2000 kilometers.

Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) has also begun procurement of thermal protection tiles for the hypersonic cruise missile that will serve the purpose of insulation of the hypersonic cruise missile from aerodynamic heating in the atmosphere.
