BrahMos Aerospace CEO says Chinese S-400 cannot intercept BrahMos supersonic cruise missile
The CEO of BrahMos Aerospace, Atul Dinkar Rane, has said that the Chinese S-400 air defense system deployed near the Indian border region cannot intercept the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile.
He also said that the S-400 system is fine-tuned to counter ballistic missiles which follow a different trajectory and have distinct characteristics and due to the BrahMos missile’s exceptional speed and agility, it is difficult for any surface-to-air missile to intercept it effectively.
BrahMos supersonic cruise missile is a testimony of a strong friendship between India and Russia as it is a joint project between the two countries.
BrahMos missile currently is in use with all the three Armed Forces branches of the Indian Military, be it on land, sea or air, BrahMos missile is a game changing weapon for India especially against its fight against China, as no current Chinese Air Defense system can intercept the missile including the S-400.
Last year, a misfired BrahMos missile went deep inside Pakistan in the village of Mia Channu which was under cover of Chinese HQ-9P Air Defense system which was recently acquired by the Pakistani Army from China, which failed to intercept the missile even after successfully tracking it during the missile’s whole travelling route inside Pakistani airspace which itself shows us about the capability of Chinese Air Defense systems.
