CRPF deploys newly inducted TATA WhAP at Pulwama in Jammu and Kashmir

Indian Armed forces have ordered 15 numbers of Tata IPMV, 76 numbers of Tata QRFV (Medium) & 81 Bharat Forge QRFV (Heavy). In April 2022, the 1st lot of Tata IPMVs was delivered to Indian Army at a ceremony in Pune. The Tata IPMV is based on the TATA WhAP platform. The IPMV also include TASL’s in-house designed and developed remote-controlled weapon station with thermal sights from Tonbo Imaging and external add-on armour protection panels developed by the Defence Metallurgical Research Laboratory of the DRDO.

An order for the development and supply of 06 WhAP variant has also been placed with Vehicle Research and Development Establishment (VRDE), Ahmednagar by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF). These WhAP variants has been handed over to CRPF on 21 March 2023.

On 19th August 2023, CRPF of Kashmir Sector Ops informed about the deployment of WHAP at 110 Bn in Pulwama.
