DRDO readying airborne prototype of KALI that will be equipped on IAF IL-76 aircraft
According to media reports, the weaponization process of KALI is still ongoing and efforts are focused on making it more compact and improving its recharge time.
The DRDO is developing multiple components that will transform the KALI into a fully operational system.
Currently the KALI is being integrated for testing on an Indian Air Force Ilyushin IL-76 military transport aircraft at an undisclosed location and the prototypes are expected to be an airborne version.
The KALI will not bore a hole in the surface of the target but rather fuse all electronic systems where an invisible electronic pulse beam will be aimed at hostile aircraft and missiles.
The KALI can burn the on-board computer chips along with electronic circuitry and bring them down immediately. DRDO readying airborne prototype of KALI that will be equipped on IAF IL-76 aircraft DRDO readying airborne prototype of KALI that will be equipped on IAF IL-76 aircraft IgMp
