India is going to order 5 more S-400 squadrons !! Former Air Force Chief RKS Bhadauria denies media reports
It is being reported that the Former Chief of the Indian Air Force Retired Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadoria has said that after the delivery of all five squadrons of Russian S-400 systems by Russia, the Indian Air Force will place a second order for five more S-400 squadrons and they will be manufactured locally under Transfer of Technology under Make in India initiative.
The Former Indian Air Force Chief has later clarified that he never said that India is going to buy five more squadrons of S400 systems and his statement is being misinterpreted by the media and he was talking about the upcoming indigenous ER-ADS (Extended Range Air Defense System) system that will have 300 kilometers range XR-SAM missile and 150 kilometers range ER-SAM missiles.
During the purchase of S400 in 2018, Indian Air Force publicly told the nation that S-400 is going to be the last air defence system being procured from abroad, as all future air defence systems will now be made in India with Indian technologies.
