India to offer Akash-NG and SAAW to Egypt with ToT but Egypt wants Pralay SRBM with ToT
During Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s state visit to Egypt from 24th June, India is all set to push for the sale of Akash New Generation (Akash-NG) air defense system and Smart Anti-Airfield Weapon (SAAW) to Egypt and India has offered technology transfer for the local assembly of the missile systems in Egypt.
The Egyptian Ministry of Defense production has also sought the transfer of technology for the 500 kilometers range Pralay short range tactical ballistic missile that will allow local production rights to Egypt.
Many defence experts have said that India should exercise caution in terms of sharing defence technology is concerned, especially high value weapons like Pralay tactical missile, BrahMos supersonic cruise missile etc which may lead to exposure of our secret technologies to our enemies.
