Indian Army FICV bids closed makes it mandatory to own the design & IPR

Indian Army’s procurement of 1,750 units of Future Infantry Fighting Vehicles (FICV) has been closed as the interested vendors were given till 1st of March 2023 deadline to bid in the program.

The Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has already granted an Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) to FICV program and the prototype trials will begin in 36 months and the L1 and L2 vendors will receive a 60-40 split order quantity for manufacturing of 1,750 units.

The local firms that have sent their bids along with the partnership with the foreign vendor will have the permission to make design changes or evolve their design to own Intellectual Property Rights (IPR).
