PM Modi to be Guest of Honour at Bastille Day Parade, to travel to France in July

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the Guest of Honour for this year’s Bastille Day Parade. PM Modi received an invitation from French President Emmanuel Macron and he will be travelling to Paris, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Friday.

Bastille Day is celebrated as the National Day of France. It is marked on July 14 every year.

India and France are also celebrating the 25th anniversary of their Strategic Partnership this year.

An Indian Armed Forces contingent will also participate with the French army to mark this milestone.

Prime Minister Modi’s visit is expected to herald the next phase in the India-France Strategic Partnership by setting new and ambitious goals for our strategic, cultural, scientific, academic, and economic cooperation, including in a wide range of industries, MEA said on Friday.

India and France share a common vision of peace and security, especially in Europe and the Indo-Pacific, and uphold the objectives and the principles of the Charter of the United Nations, which are also the basis of India- France cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, it said.
