In a heartening display of collaboration and goodwill between the United Kingdom and India, the Royal Air Force (RAF) has once again touched down at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad. The RAF aircraft’s visit to India was primarily for refueling, marking the second time this year that they have graced Hyderabad with their presence.
Upon arrival, the RAF aircrew engaged in friendly interactions with the ground staff at RGIA, reinforcing the amicable relationship between the UK and India. Gareth Wynn Owen, the British Deputy High Commissioner for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, tweeted, “This cooperation between the UK-Indian Air Forces and civil aviation brings our two nations ever closer.”
Notably, in September, RAF jets made their debut refueling stop at RGIA, signifying the growing ties and mutual cooperation between the two nations. The presence of RAF aircraft in India showcases the global reach and collaboration capabilities of the Royal Air Force.
Established in April 1918 during World War I, the RAF has evolved into one of the most technologically advanced and capable air forces globally. It operates a diverse fleet of aircraft, including fighter jets, and plays a pivotal role in defending the UK’s airspace, providing support to ground forces, and actively participating in international humanitarian and combat missions.
