Armenia is considering to order MR-SAM air defense system from India and has made some level of inquiries for the procurement.

Interestingly, Armenia’s adversary Azerbaijan Air Force operates the Barak SAM system that is completely made up of all Israeli systems while the Indo-Israeli MR-SAM has some Israeli components but India has complete Transfer of Technology of these components and India is not dependent on Israel for export clearance of the MR-SAM.

India has also offered its own Akash-1S and Akash-NG SAM systems to Armenia which are also very advanced and capable systems.
