The DRDO Chief has said that the BMD Phase-II program will be ready by 2025 that will include demonstration of both AD-1 and AD-2 Interceptor missiles.

The recent test of the AD-1 long-range interceptor missile of BMD Phase-II program will also help in the development of the ERADS program also known as Extended Range Air Defense System.

The DRDO is developing two new air defense interceptor missiles the ERSAM with 200 kilometers range and XRSAM with 350 kilometers range.

The Indian Navy will also replace its Barak-8 with a naval version of the ERADS in its future warships that will aid the Ballistic Missile Defense Shield.
