BIG UPDATE : BrahMos Aerospace to increase speed of existing BrahMos missiles beyond Mach 4

While working on the Mach 3.5 capable BrahMos Next Generation (NG) variant and Mach 7 capable BrahMos-2K Hypersonic missile, BrahMos Aerospace is also focusing on improving the performance of the existing BrahMos missiles to maintain its competitive edge.

The BrahMos missile has undergone several improvements in range and capabilities in the past, however the speed of the supersonic cruise missile has remained around Mach 2.9 but this is about to change as BrahMos Aerospace is currently focused on increasing the speed of its Liquid Ram Jet Engine beyond Mach 4 and reaching the lower Hypersonic speed range which is typically reserved for projectiles that can Fly Above Mach 5.
