DRDO Swathi Weapons Locating Radar (WLR)



The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is developing a Next Generation Weapon Locating Radar (NG-WLR) in collaboration with private sector firm Astra Microwave Products Limited.

It will be a Multi-Function S-band Active Electronic Scanning Pulsed Phased Array Tracking Radar with a detection range of 80 kilometers for a target of Radar Cross Section (RCS) of 0.03 square meters.

It will feature Automatic Detection Multi-Target Tracking and Trajectory calculation of Artillery shells, rockets and mortars.
