France may play a limited role in Kaveri-Plus program as MDL absorved all tech transfer from French Naval Group

The Indian Navy is considering to reorder six Kalvari class submarines with the DRDO-developed AIP system and Lithium-ion batteries as well as more indigenous content that might see the French Naval Group to have a limited role in this program as Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders has claimed to have successfully absorbed all critical transfer of technology that will be tasked with ensuring that the next round of Kalvari class submarines includes little or no input from France.

Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders has already begun the process of locating and developing local substitutes for some of the submarine sections that would have previously required French collaboration and the shipyard will integrate and validate many of the upgraded and latest systems.
