Ak-203 Assault Rifle variant that the Indian Army is procuring |
The Director General of Russia‘s Rosoboronexport has said that Indo-Russian Rifles Private Limited has completed the production of the first batch of 5,000 Ak-203 assault rifles and it will soon be delivered to the Indian Army.
India will procure 6 lakhs of such rifles for the Indian Army and more orders for its Paramilitary Forces and State Commando Force units will be placed later.
The first 70,000 Ak-203 rifles will have 70% indigenous content which will cost each rifle at 91,000 rupees per unit after which the indigenous content will increase to 100% which will cost each rifle around 81,000 rupees per unit.
