While India and Japan are finalizing the sale of Unicorn naval stealth antenna with transfer of technology for Next Generation Indian warships, India has expressed interest on acquiring Battery Management Systems (BMS) and other submarine technology from Japan to develop its 12 Diesel Attack Submarine program for the Indian Navy.

As Japan’s Soryu class submarine is considered the best in Diesel Attack Submarine programs in the entire world.

Japan is now showing its willingness to enhance military collaboration with India in the maritime domain as it sees India as one of the counterweights against the expanding Chinese Navy in the South China Sea and Indian Ocean Region.
