The Indian Air Force (IAF) has captured international attention with its innovative Surface Air Missile for Assured Retaliation (SAMAR) system, which repurposes aging Russian-origin R-73 and R-27 air-to-air missiles (AAMs) that are no longer suitable for use on fighter jets.
