Indian Army to equip BMP-II IFVs with 5000 Fire and Forget ATGMs including 500 Launching Systems
The Indian Army has released a Request For Information (RFI) to procure approximately 5,000 Fire and Forget ATGMs along with 500 launcher systems that will be adapted on BMP-II Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
The ATGMs must have a maximum range of over 5 kilometers and it must weigh less than 25 kilograms with their launchers.
The ATGMs should be of the modern generation and will replace the Konkur-M ATGMs mounted on the Indian Army’s BMP-II Infantry Fighting Vehicles.
Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd (AVNL) has also showcased BMP-II IFV models at the last year’s Defence Expo equipped with loitering munition launchers attached to its turret.
