Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders Ltd is boosting its research and development activities in the development of many components and systems that will result in the development of a truly indigenous conventional submarine for the Indian Navy.

Mazagaon Dock Shipbuilders and the Indian Navy are also working together to develop pump jet propulsion for its nuclear and non-nuclear submarine programs that will also be used in the 12 indigenous Next Generation conventional submarines under the Project-76 with Warship Design Bureau as the lead design consultation firm by 2030.
