HAL plans to complete Tejas Mk1A deliveries ahead of schedule in anticipation of 50 follow on order by IAF

HAL plans to complete Tejas Mk1A deliveries ahead of schedule in anticipation of 50 follow on order by IAF

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) will start delivery of Tejas Mark 1A fighter jets from February 2024 which will see the induction of 4 Tejas Mark 1A fighter jets into the Indian Air Force.

The peak production rate will reach 16 units per year from 2026 onwards but HAL is targeting to squeeze in more deliveries from 2026 onwards so that orders for 73 Mark 1A jets can be completed before 2029 for the possibility of additional orders for 50 more Tejas Mark 1A jets by the Indian Air Force before the end of 2028.
