Tejas Mark 1A to go into production next year from February, not by December 2024 as per some false propaganda reports
Tejas Mk1A CGI by Kuntal Biswas
According to a recent media report, Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) plans to begin production of the upgraded Tejas Mark 1A fighter jet in February 2024 which was actually the promised delivery date of the first Tejas Mark 1A fighter jet to the Indian Air Force which means that there will be a delay of several months.
HAL will begin deliveries of the Tejas Mark 1A in the latter half of 2024 because it is still conducting extensive testing of the new equipment added to the Mark 1A version which requires whole aircraft re-certification as per mandated norms.
Although several propaganda news reports from abroad, and social media handles from Pakistan and China was spreading false news that HAL couldn’t deliver Tejas Mark 1A even in 2025 and the production schedule of Tejas Mk1A is rescheduled to December 2024 to February 2025, which is completely absurd and false news. The delay is for few months which can be acceptable as IAF asked for few more additions to the aircraft as they are betting big on this version of Tejas which may see its combat service near contested airspaces near border areas alongside frontline jets of the Indian Air Force like Rafale and Sukhoi.
