Larsen and Toubro (L&T) has already built and delivered 100 K9 vajra self-propelled howitzers to the Indian Army much ahead of its contracted date.

Officials have said that the Ministry of Defence is pursuing the K9-vajra repeat program which requires Larsen and Toubro to build another 100 K9-vajra self-propelled howitzers and Larsen and Toubro’s proposal is currently before the Technical Evaluation Committee of the Ministry of Defence and the commercial bid will be open this month.

L&T is also going to use its K9-vajra SPH manufacturing facility in Gujarat for the manufacturing of the proposed Light Tank designed by them in collaboration with DRDO for the Indian Army in the coming years. IgMp
