BDL offers Akash SAM air defense system to Argentina in LAAD 2023
Argentina has expressed interest in Akash short-range surface-to-air missile defense system and Officials of Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) briefed the Chief of Defence Staff of Argentina on the Akash SAM system at the ongoing LAAD 2023 International Defense and Security Exhibition.
Argentina operates Bofors 40 millimeters anti-aircraft gun and RBS-70 MANPADS and is interested to procure a modern short-range air defense system.
For your kind information, we want to inform our viewers that Sudan has already bought some unknown numbers of Akash SAM system from India last year, which was recently disclosed during a military exhibition in the country, where they have showcased recently acquired Akash SAM system as one of their primary air defense system.
Several countries including Egypt, Brazil, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam have already expressed their interests in Akash Mk1, Mk2, NG SAM versions. DRDO and BDL is confident that they will receive orders for Akash SAM system from these countries in near future. IgMp
