The Philippines Navy has shown interest in acquiring BrahMos supersonic anti-ship cruise missile for its frontline warships but it will require time as structural modification will be required to be done on Philippines Navy warships to house BrahMos missile.

A Philippines-based military think tank has suggested their military to go for container-based or auxiliary ship-based BrahMos missile batteries instead of restructuring its shore-based coastal warships, installing container-based BrahMos launchers over merchant’s vessels and auxiliary support ships will pack a punch as it will be very difficult for the enemy to locate those missiles and its launchers as those will be hidden in containers.

He also said that the Philippines military can use these BrahMos launchers as an interim solutions until the warships are restructured to house BrahMos missiles.
