Saudi Arabia okays cooperation agreement with Indian spy agency RAW for combating terrorist crimes

Jeddah/New Delhi: Saudi Arabia’s cabinet has approved a cooperation agreement between Riyadh’s security agency and India’s Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW) for combating terrorist crimes and its financing.

According to the Saudi Gazette, the Saudi Cabinet, chaired by King Salman at Al-Salam Palace on Tuesday, “approved the cooperation agreement between the Presidency of State Security in the Kingdom and the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) in India for combating terrorist crimes and its financing.”

The cabinet decision came a day after India’s new Ambassador to Riyadh Suhel Ajaz Khan presented his credentials to Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Minister of Interior, in Riyadh.

During the reception, several issues of common interest were discussed, the Saudi Press Agency said.

In another important cabinet decision, Saudi Arabia also approved a memorandum granting Riyadh the status of a dialogue partner in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
