ADE Officials have said that the Tejas Mark 2 will complete air intake test certification in France in June this year and as the air intake of Tejas Mk 2 is similar to Mark 1 variant, the DRDO is confident about bagging the certification and rolling out the first Tejas Mk 2  prototype by next year.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has asked the DRDO to stick to project timelines and avoid delays in the name of first time Development.

The Modi Administration is also pursuing the possibility of manufacturing French Dassault Rafale fighters in India and India will be cleared for export of Made in India Rafale jets to other countries, talks are underway with French Govt and Dassault Aerospace on this.
