G20 Summit 2023: PM Narendra Modi announces adopting the New Delhi Declaration

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that New Delhi G20 Leaders’ Summit Declaration has reached consensus. “By our teams’ hardwork and you help, New Delhi declaration has reached consensus,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on September 9.

Sources have told CNBC-TV18 that US President Joe Biden’s support was significant in helping India achieve consensus on the declaration. Apart from formal sherpa negotiations, there were a lot of back channel talks to have consensus.
According to sources, certain words in the Bali Declaration regarding Ukraine Russia war have been removed.
G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant said that the New Delhi Leaders Declaration focuses on – strong, sustainable, balanced, and inclusive growth, accelerating progress on SDGs, green development pact for a sustainable future, multilateral institutions for the 21st century, and reinvigorating multilateralism, said on X (formerly Twitter)
