HAL plans a new unmanned fighter bomber under CATS program

Last year IgMp revealed the Computer Generated Image (CGI) of two CATS UAVs namely the CATS Warrior and CATS HALE UAV with different capabilities and vast range of operational dynamics.

While the CATS Warrior is all set to conduct its first flight by the end of 2024 Hindustan Aeronautics is planning to build a bigger Autonomous Unmanned Aircraft that will be developed as an unmanned fighter bomber aircraft that will feature a bigger internal weapons bay and will be powered by high-powered 25 kilonewton turbofan engine with a payload capacity of 1.2 tons which is double as compared to the CATS Warrior and that can be the CATS HALE UAV which will have more weapons carrying capacity than its Warrior counterpart.

It will have a higher service ceiling of over 40,000 feet and will be optimized for strike missions over enemy airspace.
