In a significant development, the aircraft manufacturing division of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has released an Expression of Interest (EoI) inviting responses from eligible Indian companies for indigenous design development and manufacturing of metallic raw materials used in Su-30 aircraft under Make-II category.

HAL Nasik has been focusing on developing indigenous mandatory and non-mandatory spares towards achieving self-reliance and is seeking 11 types of raw materials or consumables for the Su-30 aircraft with a large annual requirement under this project that will engage Indian Industries to participate in Make in India initiative and decrease dependence of HAL on Foreign firms for major raw materials and also exports pairs to other Su-30 operators that are facing spares crisis.
