HAL starts manufacturing last 2 Prachand LCH; 145 LCH Mass production to follow later

Hindustan Aeronautics has started production of the last two Limited Series Prachand Light Combat Helicopters (LCH) and they are currently in the airframe assembly stage and is expected to complete their developmental flight by the end of this year.

HAL will deliver 10 units to the Indian Air Force and 5 units to the Indian Army by the end of 2023 after which the highly anticipated mass production of the 145 Light Combat Helicopters will begin.

HAL officials have said that the HELINA (Helicopter Launched NAG) integration is a work in progress and trials will start in the next few months while the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) has already approved the procurement of 40 HELINA launchers and 500 missiles for the Prachand LCH.
