Indian Army set to integrate Loitering Munitions as standard armament on its MBTs

After closely monitoring the developments of the Ukraine war, the techniques, and usage of loitering munitions have greatly influenced the minds of Indian Army think tanks as they are planning to integrate loitering munitions as standard armaments in all of their tank fleets.

Under Project Zorawar, Indian Army’s light tank will be the first to be fitted with Loitering Munitions and a detailed study will be carried out on other MBTs such as the Russian T-90 Bhisma and indigenous Arjun Mark 1A main battle tanks to integrate these munitions later.

The Indian Army has come to the conclusion that loitering munitions are more effective than Armed UAVs in taking out main battle tanks as they can effectively locate, track and strike both stationary and moving targets with high precision.
