NewSpace Research and Technologies (NRT), a leading aerospace company based in Bengaluru, has made history in Indian aviation. Their sub-scale prototype of a High Altitude Pseudo-Satellite (HAPS) has completed a groundbreaking flight test at ATR Chitradurga, surpassing the national endurance record.

Achieving New Heights in Flight Endurance

During the test, the prototype exceeded all expectations, achieving an exceptional flight endurance of more than 24 hours. This achievement sets a new national record for India, marking the longest flight duration ever recorded for an Indian-designed, developed, and manufactured (IDDM) unmanned aerial system (UAS).

Empowering “Make in India” Initiative

NRT’s success is a significant milestone for the “Make in India” initiative, which promotes indigenous manufacturing. This accomplishment not only strengthens India’s self-reliance in aerospace technology but also boosts the growth of the private sector in the country’s defense ecosystem.

Acknowledging Support and Collaboration

NRT expressed gratitude for the support received from various organizations, including:

Future Goals and Vision

Looking ahead, NRT aims to conduct a multi-day flight endurance demonstration in the coming months, further establishing India’s leadership in HAPS UAS technology. This achievement opens up new possibilities for applications across various sectors, contributing to India’s technological advancement and growth.
