Indian Navy to order 150 Meteor long range BVR missiles for its Rafale-M carrier borne fighters

As the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is close to approving the purchase of 26 Rafael Marine fighter jets for its newest Aircraft Carrier in INS Vikrant, media reports indicate that the Indian Navy will purchase over 150 Meteor Long-Range BVR missiles for its 26 Rafale Marine fighters.

The Mach 4 capable meter missile has an operational range of 200 kilometers and has the ability to engage highly maneuverable targets in a heavy electronic countermeasures environment, the BrahMos-NG air-launched missile will also be ready by 2026 and apart from Tejas Mark1A and Sukhoi Su-30MKI aircraft, they will also be deployed on the Rafale aircraft in a twin or single weapon loadout.
